A marvelous, sprawling city enclosed in sandstone walls and iron gates. Surely this is the heart of the desert, even the world! The city-state takes six turns to circumnavigate outside of the walls, and many more to cross through on its winding and crowded streets.
To make a map, drop a handful of dice. Each represents the center of a district. Compare the size and face value against the tables below to determine the most noteworthy landmark in the district. The larger the die, the fancier the district. d4s represent districts given over to some other force—their list is at the end.
It is likely that, regardless of the result of the dice, you will still want something like a palace from which the city-state is ruled. If you do not roll a 20, place one at will. (The same is, of course, possible for any other result you'd like.)
